The bird was discovered by Polish animation photographers Józef Szołtun, Krzysztof Merski (aka Josef Sas), Paweł Makarewicz and Witold Lisicki in the lower lane of Tylihulskyi lyman.

The second record for 2019 year in Ukraine. Juvenile individual was photographed at Telbin Lake, Kyiv (North Ukraine) on October, 14. This is the 21th registration for Ukraine and this is the first registration for the Kyiv region. The first bird this year was observed on August 22, in the lower part of the Tylihulskyi lyman by P. Panchenko and O. Formaniuk.
