Rare migratory and wintering species. The second observation this year: on February 13, one bird was photographed by Serhiy Liubchenko in Kyiv on Lake Telbin, in the Odesa region 17.02 P. Panchenko noted in the top of the Sukhyi estuary also one individual (not yet published), 29.12 one bird was photographed near the village Velykyi Dalnyk near the Odesa city dump(K. Pylypiuk and S. Kovaliov).

Rare migratory species. For the second year in a row it is observed in the south of Kherson region. The first bird was noted by Yuriy Kodrul together with V. Gedziuk and K. Pylypiuk. Later that day, Oleg Rozhko and Andriy Miskov photographed another male at the specified point. The difficulty of identifying the species is due to the similarity with the Common Kestrel, especially in females and juvenile birds.<br>UPD: On September 3, one female was photographed by O. Burkovsky and R. Yaremchuk near the village of Port in the Odesa region.

In 2020, several observers also noted these birds in the Kherson region. 25.08.21 and 28.08.21 at least 18 more birds on the lowering near the village Novomykhailivka, Kherson region were observed by Yuriy Kodrul, Vladislav Gedzuk and Konstantin Pylipyuk - potentially the largest number of simultaneously observed individuals of the species for the last 20 years.

Long-billed Dowitcher (Limnodromus scolopaceus) is a new species in the avifauna of Ukraine. Yuriy Kodrul and Mykola Zmievsky saw the bird in the Shpyndiyar pod ("pod" - gently sloping closed drainless lowering of the relief) in the Kherson region. This North American sandpiper lasted in the place of observation until May 12. O. Sapuga, O. Komarovsky and V. Rudenko also managed to see it. Congrats!

The next morning, another bird was seen by Oleksiy Zolotov in the lower reaches of the Tylihul estuary.
