Subspecies

Aegithalos caudatus caudatus (Linnaeus, 1758)

    Description. Has a pure white head, is whiter below and has pink flanks.
    Distribution. Distributed throughout the territory of Ukraine.

Aegithalos caudatus europaeus (Hermann, 1804)

    Description. Head and underparts whitish, with broad black band from side of forehead back along crown-side, finely dark-streaked ear-covers, light reddish-brown flanks and belly.
    Distribution. Could occur in the western and central parts of Ukraine.

Aegithalos caudatus tauricus (Menzbier, 1903)

    Description. Externally similar to europaeus, also have a wide black strip on the head with significant dissection around the eye, the sides and belly have a reddish-brown tint.
    Distribution. Resident in the southern part of the Crimean peninsula, mainly mountain ranges, is populated.
